Oulton's Island, P.E.I. SOLD
Oulton's Island is a rare beauty in North America. Historically, Oulton's Island is known as the birthplace of the Silver Fox fur industry in the 1800’s, ultimately creating a great influx of revenue to PEI. Sir Charles Dalton and his hunting partner, Robert Oulton, were the first to successfully breed silver foxes in captivity. Previously known as Cherry Island, the land was later renamed in honor of Robert Oulton. There are currently no structures on Oulton’s Island. The last home was relocated to the mainland in the 1930’s and remains a private residence to date.

Northport Harbour is located within 500m (1600') north of Oulton's Island. The harbour provides marina facilities and public docking. The Northport Pier Inn and Restaurant offers local hospitality. Deep-water beach docking is accessible for boats, 15m (49') or less with a 10m (approximately 33') center depth allowance, on the west side of Oulton's Island. The weather is temperate and fog free through the spring, summer and fall. Championship golf is available across the bay, on Prince Edward Island while favorite winter activities include skating and cross country skiing. The marshland along the eastern shore is a habitat for many species of water birds, and a Blue Heron rookery affords a remarkable display of spring hatching.
